# Retrieve a meal

> Reads one meal and its items.

`GET /meals/:id`

Needs the **Read** permission.

## Path parameters

| Parameter | Type | Description |

| `id` | string | Required. The meal's id. |

## Response

`200` with the [meal](https://splot.health/docs/api/meals/object), or `404` with `meal_not_found` when it doesn't exist or isn't yours.
